Me,myself and Ken

Hi,
Ok my first writing a blog..Soooo im not sure what to write..Maybe i should write about myself in the first place…ok..My name is Ken,currently im staying in Penang..Well im from Klang,Selangor..Working as a Key Account Supervisor..Dont get me wrong,im not doing ACCOUNTS..heheh..Im taking care of more alike franchise outlets..eg 7-11s,populars and Sports Planet to name afew..Been doing this for the last 3 years…Man…..Time flies soo fast…Felt it was like yesterday i came to Penang..hehehe…

Hmmnnn…What do i like to do??Nothing much…Travelling..I bet alot of u guys out there loves it too…Soo i guess im normal…I dont exercise..i dont play sports…I used to play futsal…until,i hurt myself and thats it,its history…i like to do things halfway,i dont know why…maybe coz of genes??LOLZ…Lately i found a new hobby,pretty interesting hobby..I find it really fun and extreme…CYCLING!!! Bought a bike,costs me Rm850,name ROCKBIKE!! 24 gears and all…and what surprised me the most is disc brakes…First time i saw a bike having disc brakes…MAN…i was sooooosoooo outdated…But its ok…i enjoyed it alot…I hope u guys will join me 1 fine day…Ive got this crazy dream dream to cycle around the world..Dont know whether it will come true…Wait!!…Be patient young man…hahahah

Yea,about travelling,ive been afew ASEAN countries mainly Singapore,Thailand and Cambodia…I remembered i started off my first journey ON MY OWN to Cambodia about 5 years ago to see my dad…That time theres no Airasia,so guest what??BY LAND from penang to Cambodia…I came to Penang,rested for a few days then i started my quest from Penang…Well well well…my objective is to get to Bangkok then find my way..Pretty scary huh??hehehe…So,i was looking for a ticket in Komtar, then suddenly this name KOH SAMUI caught my eye…Hmmnn…i havent been to Samui,its an island..it should be fun..Since, i will be going all the way to Bangkok,soo i guess its a brilliant idea to stop by at Samui..I remembered its only RM50 those days….

I got really nervous and anxious the night before…Come on..its my first trip out from Malaysia ALONE by land…I calmed myself down and eventually i was still hesitant to go..Van reached Komtar at 8am..i was sitting in the van thinking what have i done??Where will i stay in Samui??What will i eat??Where will i go??How do i get to Bangkok from Samui??And upon reaching Bangkok,where should i go??All this questions kept popping in my mind..i just cant stop thinking about it…i decided to keep on going..it should be an adventure of a lifetime…

it took nearly 3 hours to get to haadyai…We get an hour to rest before another van came and picked us up to the pier in Surat Thani..Along the way,i was still thinking of whether i should go ahead of this little dream of mine..Together in the van,theres 2 English guy,1 Dutch lady,an Australian and another Thai guy..I was really quiet and shy..Shying myself away..heheh..Then we stopped for a break..Finally i gather my courage to talked to them..All the way till we reached the pier..We were still talking when we were in the ferry…Soo talkative man..At least keeping my mind busy and not worrying of what to do later…5 of us were sitting down drinking with everyone buying a round of beer..While we were sitting down and drinking,this Thai guy came adn asked us whether did we get ourself any room yet?? I was soo excited till i said NO!!!hahah.Then they were saying,its ok..we dont have to get any room now,plenty of it when we reached there..Well i told them this is my first time,asking for forgiveness..hehhe…Journey takes about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to get to Samui..When we reachde Samui,i was quite drunk..It was nearly 8pm…

First thing we do,hunt for rooms..Went to afew places…Never liked it…Finally i liked this place in Chaweng beach….and they agreed too..Soo i got myself and room at 500Baht(w/o aircond) and they got a room at 700Baht with aircond..After a quick shower we came out for dinner…The thing i liked soo much is the chalet is just along Chaweng beach..Behind the chalet lies afew sofa where people can sit and dine..Really nice and romantic..hehhe..After dinner,they invited me over for afew drinks..i said no because im really tired!!So i went back and got myself a nice rest…

Next morning,i decided to scroll along the beach side…After having breakfast,i saw this guy,familiar face and all…soo i went to talked to him..Guess what??Hes from PENANG!!!heheh…what a small world..He told me that he just came back from Nepal..OOOoooo….We chatted for a while…After that i went for a walk…Without noticing anything on a hot sunny day,i got lost..Imagined that,On Chaweng itself,i got lost..I guess i have been walking nearly 2 hours…hahha…I have to get to the main road..From there,i get back to my chalet…goshh,tiring..Finally i found my chalet..Get myself a quick shower and out for food!!!I found this stall selling local food..Im just into anything right now but local THAI food..They were selling noodle soup..I ordered a bowl and i had a teaspoon of sugar and 3 teaspoon of chilli powder..Man,i was soo stupid..I was like on fire…For half and hour i was only looking for water!!…hahahha….Then i looked for more food..From pancakes to sausages..OKokok..Enough for food..Now its time for me to get a ticket to Bangkok..Searching around and bought myself a ticket from Samui to Bangkok the next day at 8am..After that i went drinking alone…Pity me..hehehe…Later went to my chalet and get a goodnight sleep….

I wokeup really early..Packed everything and leave Samui…Bus came and picked us up…GOODBYE SAMUI!!! By the time everything is settled,we reached Surat Thani at around 3pm..We were separated into a few groups,Group A is going this place,B another place and lists continues…So,i have to follow this group to this travel agent…We waited nearly 4 hours when the bus turned up..And yet,its not fully occupied..There it goes..We have to wait for another half and hour…Man…double decker bus…Soo packed..Wonder how will i survived sitting in this bus..hahaha…Finally we started our journey at 7.30pm…and we reached Bangkok at 6.30am..Goshhh…i was sleeping all the way..hahaha…When i came down from the bus,its soo dark..I was like ‘S**t!!!What am i doing here??’ What next???

I cant helped it but to asked around ‘Do u Speak English??’ i cant speak..but i can say that out of 10 persons,only 3 thais understand English..So finally i found this 2 friendly thai standing waiting for bus..So i aked them ‘Do u speak English?’they said yea..Relieved…They said i should have taken bus no 50 to moschit and from there take a nother bus to Arangyaprathet..Then i asked them,’How would i know when i reached Moschit..They said ‘Dont worry,just follow us’.Seriously that time,i dont know what have gotten into me that i trusted them..So i followed them..oohh finally Moschit Terminal (Northeastern Terminal)..Brushed my teeth and got myself something to eat..The next journey begins..Arangyaprathet!!!Found!!!Boarded a bus to Arang..Takes another 4-6 hours..Reached Arang..got myself a motor taxi..And that motor taxi brought me to the border..Finally..im at Poipet!!Thai-Cambodia border..

It was a hot sunny day with alot of tourists lining up at the immigration counter..Sadly only 2 counters opened that day…i was soo hot…Sweating and all…But something caught me by surprised!! Those kids running around without clothes..Touching each and everyone pocket to see if they can get anything out of it..I can say these kids were around 8 years old..Very naughty indeed.I was thinking if Seam Reap is like that,i will pack my bags and leave the next day..hehehe..Got my passpost stamped..Along the immigration side,theres a few casinos..So i got myself to a toru agency..Managed to call my dad and asking for help!!heheh..i was really tired and hungry..Been surviving on snacks along my journey..So he booked a cab for me..

ALong my way to Seam Reap..i can see nothing..Basically its only empty land left and right..Maybe afwe driedup coconut trees..Dusty..Real dusty…The journey takes about 4-5 hours from Poipet to Seam Reap..SO when i reached Seam Reap..i told myself..Finally!!!!U will know when u reached Seam Reap,coz everything will be soo different..Lights will be different..Roads…And alot of hotels..

So first things first,FOOD!!!!Went to eat porridge..After that we were sitting at this stall along the streets and i saw this young kid eating something..Its an egg..But what egg??Then my dad told me its DUCK EGG..Filipinos called it ‘balot’…i asked my dad to get me 1 and i try..The smell unbearable!!gosh…but i can only taste once..God!!heheh..But i loves their fruit blended,really sweet..They mixed with everything they got..alot of mixture..alot of combination of fruits..Nice..

Later we bought a carton of beer to drink..hehhe..yea..party time..Had a good rest…the next day went to Angkor Wat..WOW!!Its soo huge..Soo nice..So historic and i was wondering how could this people back in god knows what centuries managed to built such a wonderful place…It costs 25USD to get in..But its worth it..Seriously if u want to know every single temples that is in it,it will take u afew days…heheh…

I stayed in Seam Reap for 3 weeks..Had a great fun over there..Coming back home by land again but this time around it did not take me along time..except for Bangkok..Traffic really bad over there..After getting off the bus..I was lost again..I need to get to the southern bus terminal..They called it Sai Tai Terminal..All this while i thought it was the same Terminal with Moschit..Eventually i found this friendly chap guiding me to Sai Tai Terminal..Guess what??He said that ive been brave enough to go all the way to Cambodia by myself..heheh..What a Compliment..Then,i bought myself a first class ticket to Haadyai..At least i need to pamper myself after such a long journey..hheheh…Finally,ive reached Haadyai,had a night in Haadyai and the next day i left back to Penang…HOME SWEET HOME!!!

After this journey,i felt that Malaysian are generally lucky..So better appreciates what we got now…
